Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has commended the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga following a decision to put off his swearing-in ceremony plan.
Mandago said Raila had made the right decision which was good for the country.
Speaking in Eldoret on Tuesday, the vocal Jubilee allied-governor described the opposition chief as 'a man enough' following the decision to postpone the swearing-in ceremony which was to be held parallel to the Jamhuri day celebrations.
"Raila deserves all credit for being bold enough to turn down attempts for his swearing in," Mandago said.
"If it were any other person, he/she might have looked for an excuse of not to attend the swearing-in but for Raila, I thank him for being man enough as this is the way to go," he added.
Raila had announced that he would be sworn in on December 12 as the People's President but on Monday, NASA said the plans had been suspended following extensive internal discussions.
Reports indicate that those pushing for the swearing-in succumbed to pressure from both within the coalition and the clergy as well as western envoys who were against the move which was seen as unconstitutional.
