Bungoma County Governor Ken Lusaka has received a major boost as he seeks to defend his seat in the forthcoming general polls after one of the dominant clans in the area agreed to back his re-election.

The Balonja clan has affirmed that it will rally its people behind the county boss when that time comes.

Speaking Burangasi in Bumula, a group of leaders from the community said that they are impressed with the lawmaker’s performance scoreboard, adding that he deserves another term in office to complete the projects he had started four years ago.

Led by the clan’s Secretary General Jairus Nyongesa Wangila Makhinu the team said that Jubilee has initiated several projects in the county, thanks to the governor's stand on matters of national interest.

“We have seen the development projects initiated by the county and national governments from roads, agriculture, education to health. We expect more to come with his (Lusaka) re-election,” said Makhinu, as quoted by capital FM.

The governor welcomed the move, adding that he will not disappoint the people of this side if given a chance to lead them for another term. “We appreciate that devolution is still a new thing in Kenya. We had no learning template, but as we start our second term, be sure things will flow smoothly,” said the Governor.
