Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has responded to reports linking him with a switch to opposition party ODM.
According to Mbugua, rumours suggesting that he has quit the ruling Jubilee coalition are being spread by a section of ODM leaders.
The Nakuru County boss has condemned the rumour mongers stating that they are attempting to ruin his political ambitions ahead of the next general election
"I would like to categorically make it clear that I have not joined ODM party and I have no intention of joining. Those are false allegation by my opponents," said Mbugua during a press conference in his office.
Mbugua who was addressing reporters on Wednesday said that he will remain in Jubilee because the coalition has focused leaders.
"Jubilee is the only party where leaders are focused on solving the challenges faced by the members of the public," said Mbugua.
He further expressed confidence in retaining the Nakuru gubernatorial seat.
"I am confident that I will be re-elected as Nakuru governor based on my track records," added Mbugua.
