Nakuru Governor, Kinuthia Mbugua, made news in 2016 when he launched public toilets that were allegedly valued at Sh8.9 million, causing an uproar for messing with taxpayers’ money. The governor and Joseph Motari, the county secretary, have found themselves in another trouble and might be jailed for 3years if they do not go through with a court order that ordered them to reinstate or compensate 13 former workers of the defunct Naivasha Municipal Council.“The sentence has been suspended for three months to allow the duo to comply with the court orders. The two are the legal successors of the defunct municipal council and as suck, they must adhere to the court order,” published a local daily on Friday, February 10.The case was filed on 2015 but the county government, however, has been delaying to handle the matter claiming that they are going through the former employees information as some workers had attained the retainer age and some were dead.High Court Judge Paul Kosgei ruled that the workers should be reinstated and those who had attained 55 years receive all their dues.
