The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been asked to consider manually transmitting results for the fresh presidential results scheduled to be held on October 26.

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago says this will ensure transmission mistakes that led to the nullification of the August 8 Presidential results are not repeated.

Speaking to the press at the Uasin Gishu County Assembly buildings in Eldoret town on Thursday, Mandago faulted the Supreme Court's decision to nullify President Uhuru Kenyatta's win saying there was no sufficient evidence to warrant fresh polls.

"The Supreme Court in its majority decision never said Uhuru didn't won. Neither did I hear them saying the elections were rigged," noted the Jubilee governor.

"The only thing I heard the Judges say was that there was a problem with results transmission and this is why I prefer IEBC to manually transmit results in the repeat polls," he added.

Mandago however expressed confidence that President Uhuru Kenatta will still be re-elected in the fresh poll.

"We know our candidate won and we have no problem going back to the poll because this will provide us with an opportunity to ensure we win with even a bigger margin," he said.
