Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has expressed his disappointment after Jubilee government failed to appoint any leader from the county during recent cabinet appointments.
Njuki who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket threatened to withdraw the county's support for Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 when he will be vying for the presidency.
He lamented that the county has been a voting pillar for the Jubilee government but they have been sidelined in all cabinet positions including in Principal Secretary positions.
"Seats have been given yet we're (Tharaka Nithi) still watching. Let the president be told we're still watching. Let the deputy president be told we're still watching. We're not threatening but speaking out our minds so that nobody says we did not say. If all posts will go without Tharaka Nithi being recognised, don't come here for 2022 politics saying we're together," he warned, citing DP Ruto.
Njuki further indicated the county which is usually a political stronghold of Jubilee government, had able and learned people who would be appointed to the cabinet such as Dr Mzalendo Kibunja.
"I speak for the people and I will remain to speak for the people," he added on Tuesday as he addressed residents in the county.
