A Jubilee Party governor faced rejection on Saturday as he campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Governor Salim Mvurya’s speech was disrupted by teachers, who chanted pro-National Super Alliance (NASA) slogans.
Mvurya, who decamped from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), headed by Raila Odinga, had attended the Teacher for Teachers graduation ceremony after the successful completion of the training sponsored by donors from Netherlands.
The Star reports that the teachers became hostile after the Jubilee governor said Odinga was not a straightforward person because he wanted to boycott the fresh presidential election as ordered by the Supreme Court.
“We don’t know what is wrong with the opposition. Every time they are complaining like I don’t want Chiloba, OT-Morpho and now even Safaricom,” Mvurya is quoted by the Star.
The seemingly irritated teachers immediately begun shouting “Nasa hao! Tibim!”
Mvurya continued with his speech amid the heckles.
