President Uhuru Kenyatta has launched road projects in Nyamira and Kisii Counties.

They included the construction of Chebilat - Ikonge - Chabera road at a cost of Sh3.1 billion.

Accompanied by his deputy William Ruto, Uhuru earlier launched more roads in the region where the Jubilee government is spending Sh22 billion to improve the road network.

During his Tuesday tour in the region, Uhuru first landed at Igonga in Kisii where he launched the construction of Nyamira – Igonga -teso so – Itibo – Kiabusura – Mwata – Bogitaa – Riana – Iyabe – Ekiendege - Chisaro road while Ruto presided over the launch of Kajauri - Nyansingo - Metamaiywo road.

Uhuru said the objective of the Jubilee government was to see Kenya develop and have citizens enjoy shared prosperity.

He called on Nyamira residents to be wary of Opposition leaders who want to use hatred and incitement as a political tool to win votes.

On his part, Ruto said Kenyans should take Opposition leaders to task when they try to dispute the facts on the ground that massive road development projects are going on in the country.

"Ask them to come and see what is going on here when they claim no roads are being built," said Ruto, as quoted by PSCU.

They later addressed rallies in Nyamira and Nyambaria.
