Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant Lemmy Muia Nzuma has said that both Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua and former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti do not deserve to lead the people of this part of the nation. According to Muia, the two leaders have been playing tribal politics, which is not good for the growth of the county. The aspirant faulted the duo for engaging in tribal politics that have continued to hamper efforts of development for the past several years. Muia also argues that the two are contesting on parties which are only influential in Ukambani. He goes on to argue that residents from this area do not need tribal leadership if at all they want to realize development “When Mutua says his Chap Chap party is homegrown, and Wavinya hangs on to Wiper just for the sake of seeking support from tribal chiefs, they miss the point. Machakos residents deserve leadership that does not invoke tribal tags as a bargaining chip,” says Muia, as quoted by Standard. Meanwhile, Wavinya Ndeti’s move to Wiper has changed the political situation of this region. Mutua will have to pitch tents in different areas of the county in order to retain his seat. Things will be tougher if Kalonzo is chosen NASA flag bearer.
