Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho claims that Jubilee administration has sensed defeat to the spirited opposition team, citing recent intimidation subjected to him reportedly by the state.
Joho, a consistent critic of Jubilee government, had his guards withdrawn recently following his continued attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta's track record.
On Saturday, Joho challenged Jubilee leadership to drop their presidential ambitions to avoid an impending defeat in August.
"They have already bowed to us and that is why you are seeing them using authoritative tactics to subdue us. We are not going to bow down for them," said Joho.
He added: "The only escape route is to bow out of presidential elections. I am confident that they will be sent home because that is where they belong."
The Mombasa county boss said the opposition team was ready to take over the leadership of the country, adding that Jubilee government had failed to improve the economy of the nation.
