Mashinani Party leader and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has accused Jubilee Government of apparent failure to fulfill pledges made to Kenyans in the run-up to the 2013 elections.
Ruto claimed that the Jubilee administration has failed to live up to its promise of enabling devolution and uniting Kenyans but instead it has divided Kenyans more by rolling back the wheels of history by stagnating reforms and attempting to slip back to a single-party state.
"Kenyans demand service but the Jubilee government have taken us back to sycophancy. They have failed devolution which was the promise of the new constitution. What they are now focused on is strengthening their new party ignoring the majority of Kenyans," he said.
Speaking in West Pokot on Saturday, Ruto also criticised Deputy President William Ruto over his apparent negligence of Rift Valley’s political interest.
"Deputy President Ruto has ignored voices of reason from this region. Instead, he is more focused on his own political interest in the dissolution of his party URP and formation of Jubilee Party which has no support at the grassroots," noted the governor.
Speaking at the same venue, West Pokot Senator Prof John Lonyangapuo said the region would remain under Kanu despite defections by some of its leaders to the newly formed Jubilee Party. Lonyangapuo called on the residents to register as voters in readiness for the 2017 General Election.
