Sirisia MP John Waluke has rubbished claims that Jubilee Party ferried people to attend its rally in Bungoma County on Sunday.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday at the Parliament Buildings, the lawmaker noted that the ruling party had gained some substantial political ground in Western Kenya, vowing to give the opposition coalition NASA a run for their money during the forthcoming general elections.
"I know they are in panic mode because of the huge crowds they saw in Bungoma on Sunday. That is just a snippet of the big things in store for Jubilee," he said.
"People trekked, others rode bicycles and some drove themselves or came by matatu to witness the revolution that was underway in Bungoma. Nobody bribed anyone to attend the rally," he added.
Waluke further noted that Jubilee was keen to get more than 60 per cent of the vote in Western Kenya.
"NASA stronghold is a fallacy, it doesn't exist because Jubilee will capture 60 per cent of the votes in our view," he said.
The region overwhelmingly voted for Opposition leader Raila Odinga during the 2013 general elections.
