Jubilee Party's Ukambani pointman and prominent business Peter Muthoka has expressed confidence that the party will garner more votes from the region during the August polls than it did in 2013.
Speaking at State House on Tuesday when he met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto, Mr Muthoka noted that Jubilee had made considerable inroads into the region, characterized by the recent defections of key legislators from Wiper Party to Jubilee.
He further lauded the Jubilee administration for overseeing the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway and improving the education and energy sectors.
“We are confident that the Jubilee Party this time round will get most votes in Ukambani because in 2013 you were giving Kenyans a promise but this time, you are talking to Kenyans with a scorecard of your achievements for roads that they have travelled on, electricity that they can see, a Standard Gauge Railway that has been put up in record time and ground-shaking education reforms,” he stated.
Mr Muthoka donated cars, trucks, equipment and campaign materials to Jubilee Party during the event.
“It is people like you who will make us succeed because we know without proper support it is very difficult to run a campaign,” President Kenyatta observed while thanking Mr Muthoka for the donation.
