[Photo|PSCU]President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee administration is fronting Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya for chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG).After he retained his seat through Jubilee Party ticket in the August general elections, Mvurya was fronted to succeed current CoG chairman Turkana governor Josphat Nanok.Mvurya is poised to lead the council months after retiring as its deputy chairman.During governors and deputy governors induction workshop in Diani, Kwale county on Thursday, Mvurya said Kenyans were looking up-to governors to provide the needed leadership that will change their lives through development projects and initiatives that directly and indirectly have an impact on their lives."The onus is on us colleagues to meet the very high expectations of the public in our various counties across the nation," he said.Mvurya indicated devolution is the cure for marginalization in Kenya. "It is therefore imperative that both levels of government progressively engage in implementing projects that will open our country to economic prosperity. I do believe the two levels of government are not in competition and if they partner well then the potential of our country to create wealth will be realized."
