President Uhuru Kenyatta at a past rally.[Photo|Courtesy]President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, now wants to be enjoined in a case filed by three voters seeking to bar the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners from conducting the fresh presidential election.Brian Asin, Kevin Alwanga and Ben Wanasakaami moved to court September 1, few hours following the Supreme Court nullification of President Uhuru Kenyatta's August 8 polls, seeking to block IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, chairman Wafula Chebukati and six commissioners from overseeing the election on October 17.According to them, they bangled the August elections, and lack credibility to conduct another election.Justice Mativo certified the case as urgent, and told Jubilee Party which wants to be enjoined as an interested party to go ahead and file suit papers, and serve application to the petitioner and IEBC within seven days.The court will rule and decide if Jubilee's request will be allowed on September 13, 2017 according to The Star.
