President Uhuru Kenyatta's tour of Wajir county proved beneficial, after he reaped big.
This is after he received a section of leaders from the region, who were strong Opposition members.
During the Saturday tour accompanied by his deputy William Ruto, National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale among others, Uhuru received four Wajir MPs.
The lawmakers who decamped from the Opposition include Adan Keynan (Eldas), Abbas Mohamed (Wajir East), Abdikadir Ahmed (Wajir West) and Mohamed Elmi (Tarbaj). He also received area Deputy governor Abdihafid Yarrow and senator Hassan Abdirahman Ali and an ODM Nominated senator Halima Abdille.
The tour also saw over 20 Members of County Assembly including Wajir County Assembly Speaker Bishar Omar Hussein, defect to the incumbent party, as August 8 elections approach.
They cited development projects in the region, saying Uhuru's government had done them a lot of benefit.
"Our party is about unity and development to the people. That's we are asking you to support us. We value you and all Kenyans,'' Uhuru told area residents in Wajir town.
Jubilee's tour came few weeks after Raila Odinga's Nasa toured the region to drum up support for the coalition.
