The ruling Jubilee party has opened its doors for political partnership ahead of the 2022 elections.
On Wednesday, March 14, National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale mentioned that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led outfit was willing to forge a pact with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Duale said this but cautioning that Jubilee Party had a clear focus on handing the presidential mantle to Deputy President William Ruto.
Duale observed in as much as the ruling side was ready to merge with a likeminded political entity for the next general election, they would not play second fiddle.
While seconding a motion tabled by Minority leader John Mbadi, the Garissa Township lawmaker said: “Our succession agenda is very clear, our striker is William Ruto and we will ensure he does not get injured until he scores the goal (he gets to State House).”
Mbadi, who stands as the ODM chairman had motioned to enhance the truce between President Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga.
The initiative will see President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga earn special recognition. Besides, the results of the motion are hoped that they will cement a bridge of coherence between the various political outfits in parliament.
