Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has said that the Jubilee Party is afraid of his candidature ahead of the next year's general polls.
Reacting to the news of Peter Kenneth's entry to the already crowded Nairobi governor race, Kidero said that the fact that Jubilee keep changing potential candidates for the Nairobi seat is a clear indication that they fear how strong he is.
Kidero claimed that Jubilee has not been able to put its house in order because they are afraid of losing to him.
"They are afraid of Kidero. Facing Kidero is a big issue for Jubilee," he jokingly told journalists in Nairobi.
Kidero however welcomed Kenneth to the race adding that he is ready to face anyone Jubilee presents.
"I welcome any Kenyan willing to present themselves for the opportunity to serve this great nation to come forward. Let us meet in the ballot," he was quoted on News24.
The Nairobi governor race has attracted a number of candidates from the Jubilee side with Senator Mike Sonko, Dennis Waweru, Johnstone Sakaja, Margret Wanjiru, Eugene Wamalwa and latest Peter Kenneth expressing their interests in the seat.
Kidero however remains the sole candidate from the opposition side giving him a potential upper hand.
