The Jubilee party is equally concerned that it could be rigged out of the impending August polls contrary to speculation that it is planning to oversee the same, Nominated senator Johnson Sakaja has said.

Speaking on Citizen TV on Monday, Sakaja said unlike the narratives that have been woven to cast them as planning to manipulate the electoral outcome, they were equally concerned that they could fall victim to the same.

"We are also worried that we may be rigged out. It's not all about the opposition, even us in Jubilee are concerned," he said.

The Nairobi senatorial candidate asked the opposition to grant the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) the benefit of the doubt instead of constantly suspecting them with the elections. The opposition coalition National Super Alliance (NASA) has continuously accused their Jubilee counterparts of plotting to bungle the August 8 polls to have their desired outcomes. The coalition's flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate have since linked the military and the IEBC of working in cahoots with their rivals to manipulate the hotly contested polls. The military Odinga said are to be deployed in Nasa strongholds in the guise of maintaining peace but in reality to intimidate and scare away voters while the IEBC he says have secretly transported extra ballot papers to the country that have been marked in favour of President Kenyatta that they aim to stuff inside the ballot.
