The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is being bundled out of office by the government after it outlived its usefulness, an activist has said.
According to Nakuru-based human rights activist Masese Kemunche, IEBC delivered what it was hired to do by the Jubilee government and it’s the same Jubilee pushing it out.
The outspoken activist claimed that Jubilee is fully behind the resignation of the three IEBC commissioners because they want a new team in preparation for the 2022 elections.
Masese further said that Jubilee fears IEBC commissioners might be tempted to spill the beans about what happened during the 2017 general elections hence the underhand maneuvers to get rid of it.
The activist called for a total overhaul of the commission including scrapping of the secretariat.
