Council of Governors chair and Turkana governor Josphat Nanok has questioned the Jubilee adminstration's commitment to implementing devolution.

Speaking on Sunday, Nanok warned that devolution could be weakened should Jubilee wins a second term during the forthcoming general elections.

The governor cited delayed disbursement of funds allocated to the devolved units by the National Treasury.

“They have been consistently withholding cash meant for the counties and even refused to let go of functions which were devolved through the Constitution,” he said.

He instead urged Kenyans to vote for the Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga, arguing that he is the only one committed to ensuring that devolution succeeds.

“All Kenyans know very well [NASA presidential flagbearer] Raila Odinga has paid the price for devolution and democracy in Kenya,” he said.
