Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has said that Jubilee Government is undermining devolution by using the Ministry of Finance to reduce funding for the county governments.
Mr Maangi said that there was no need for the Jubilee Government to treat counties as a burden but instead embrace the county governments because Kenyans supported their existence in 2010.
He accused the Jubilee Government of silently killing devolution with the aim of strengthening the National Government and a few individuals at the expense of the common man.
"We are not happy with the way the government operates its like their main aim is to kill devolution. However, we are telling them off as we are here to defend the fruits of devolution," he said.
The deputy governor also pleaded with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto to contain the treasury as it would haunt their legacy.
"Let the president and his deputy embrace devolution as there is a need for them to support it fully," he said.
