Kisauni MP Rashid Bedzimba has accused the Jubilee Coalition of plotting to divide Coastal leaders.
Bedzimba accused Jubilee of sabotaging Coast leaders' quest to rise to the national level.
Speaking in his Kisauni office on Tuesday, Bedzimba claimed that a plot involving a section of Coastal leaders was hatched atState House sometime last month, where the said leaders were sent to divide the votes in the region.
The MP claimed the move was aimed at preventing leaders whose political career looked bright from attaining a national outlook.
Bedzimba also hit out at Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar for opposing Joho’s bid for a second term as the county boss in 2017, saying that the senator was just dancing to the tune of the Jubilee coalition.
“The governor has declared his interest to vie for presidency in 2022 and he has been accepted nationally. The move poses a big challenge to them (Jubilee) so they have devised ways of bringing down the governor by using leaders from within Mombasa,” said the MP.
Senator Omar who is a critic of Joho's administration has publicly declared interest to vie for governorship in the 2017 polls.
