Ukambani de facto political kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka has unearthed Jubilee’s monkey business targeting aged Kamba voters.
Musyoka said that the registration of the elderly persons for the government’s monthly stipend is a plot to rig next month’s polls. The Wiper patron lamented that Ukambani is the most affected region.
Raila Odinga’s running mate said that beneficiaries are being asked to surrender IDs as a registration requirement. He urged the old to be patient till NASA takes over power and caters for their needs.
"They are telling wazee to give out their identity cards so they can be given money. They are doing that to some old people in Ukambani. Why are they doing it now? That exercise must stop immediately. NASA will take care of the elderly when we take power in August," he claimed on Friday as reported by the Star but did not give proof.
Speaking as they traversed the Eastlands part of Nairobi city, NASA chiefs cursed those behind the fracas in Thika and Githurai.
One person alleged to the mastermind of the chaos is Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria. However, Kuria has denied any involvement in the ugly scenes.
Opposition flag bearer Raila Odinga also urged Nairobi residents not to embarrass him by voting for Sonko.
"I'm the oldest politician in Nairobi. Don't embarrass me by voting for [governor aspirant Mike] Sonko," Raila said as quoted by the Star.
