President Uhuru Kenyatta's win has marked a new dawn for Luhya community as well as the whole country, Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali has said.

Washiali said that Jubilee Party penetrated Western Kenya and successfully wooed voters to vote for the president after the Supreme Court nullified his re-election September 1.

"Now that we have re-elected Uhuru as the president, the people of Mumias will be looking to benefit more through completion of the revival of our company Mumias Sugar," the Parliament majority chief whip said.

"Even with the exams starting, our children will join secondary school free of charge come January as promised in the Jubilee manifesto."

Washiali castigated NASA leader Raila Odinga for polarising the country on ethnic grounds, pointing at the recent spate of violence experienced in parts of Nyanza.

"Western people won't be part and parcel of this so called economic sabotage. We have more to gain by working with the Jubilee government than a resistance," the MP said.
