West Pokot Senator John Lonyangapuo has now claimed that the Jubilee Party lacks the capacity and experience to conduct free, fair and transparent primaries.
Speaking on Friday shortly after handing over nomination certificates to aspirants who were eyeing the Kanu ticket, the senator urged politicians seeking the nomination of Jubilee Party ahead of the August polls to join the independence party, noting that JP had ashamed President Uhuru Kenyatta for overseeing shambolic primaries.
"Some of JP leaders were bragging that the party is the best in the country. JP is not mature in politics and they should come and benchmark with Kanu because it has so many years of experience in campaigns and nominations," he said.
Logistical mishaps saw Jubilee Party cancel its primaries slated for last week Friday, prompting postponement.
Deputy President William Ruto is set to oversee the exercise that is set to begin on Monday.
