Garissa Women Representative Shukran Hassan has urged Kenyans to reject the Sh1.5 million Jubilee laptops being distributed, claiming that they were bewitched to blindfold their judgement during the 2017 elections.
Shukri said Jubilee government was using the project as a campaign tool and not as a way of improving digital literacy across the counties.
Speaking in Garsen during a political rally that had been organized by the Wiper party, the vocal female politician said she would mobilize Kenyans to reject the devices and vote out the Jubilee administration in the incoming elections.
“I will mobilize Garissa residents to reject the laptops. We do not need the laptops by the Jubilee government. They might be bewitching residents to seek re-election,” she stated.
Jubilee has rolled out the countrywide distribution of the digital devices for primary school children. During their 2013 presidential campaigns, Jubilee promised to distribute free laptops to all schools standard one kids across the 47 counties.
