The ruling Jubilee Party has rubbished the opposition alliance NASA's pledges ahead of the August polls terming them as unsubstantial and unrealistic.

Speaking in an interview on Citizen TV Tuesday,JP Vice Chairman David Murathe said that most of the promises the Raila Odinga-led team is giving are just meant to hoodwink Kenyans into voting the alliance in the elections,a trick that he said is unlikely to work.

''NASA's narrative of giving free everything including education is misleading as everybody including themselves knows that our budget cannot cater for such expenditures,'' said Murathe who further questioned the alliance's flag bearer Raila Odinga's newfound passion for the nation saying that he has been in government long enough to have achieved all that he is promising now.

''Raila and his NASA colleagues have served in the government for a long time and never even talked about what they are promising now.Why should Kenyans trust them?It is another trick to capture power,'' said Murathe.

NASA has promised to give free nursery, primary and secondary education and offer financial support to single mothers in the nation should it ascent to power in August.

Also in its pledge list is a promise to reduce house rent in urban centers and improve agriculture in the nation.
