Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong'i has a reason to smile after Kisii high court upheld his August 8th victory.
His victory comes at a time submission on the application for the motion on scrutiny and recount of Nyaribari Chache was squashed by the court few days ago.
According to Kisii high court judge Mr Anthony Ndung'u the petitioners led by Charles Bichage did not submit enough evidence that would amount to nullification of Tong'i's victory.
The judge further added that Tong'i's lawyers were able to prove to the court that the legislator indeed won in the August polls.
Speaking few minutes after his win was validated Tong'i said he is ready to work closely with his opponents despite challenging him in court.
"Today the Kisii High Court has spoken loud and clear by validating my August 8 electoral victory, this is a confirmation that the will of the people of Nyaribari Chache Constituency must be respected, I would like to call upon my opponents to work closely with me so that we can develop the constituency," said Tong'i.
