The central issue is the development record of the ruling Jubilee coalition. The opposition has been critical of how Jubilee has carried out its development agenda.

They accuse Jubilee of excess corruption that has crippled achievement of social and economic goals. On Monday September 5, 2016 Kalonzo Musyoka found himself on the receiving end after he pointed out the wanting corruption in government.

While in Kitale Trana Nzoia County attending the burial of Mrs. Jeniffer Masis the former Vice President said, “The country has not been able to realize its development goals owing to massive corruption that has been on the high.”

These sentiments were not good music to present Jubilee leaders. They accused Musyoka of being a hypocrite by claiming that he was in the previous Kibaki government and did not deliver to Kenyans what was promised. The former VP was told that he did not contribute any development in the past regime.

The Saboti Member of Parliament David Wafula said, “We should not peddle lies at burials just to score politically yet it is clear that the Jubilee regime has done more than what the previous Governments realized.”
