A section of Jubilee leaders from Nyamira now want Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i relieved off his duties.
For weeks now, Matiang'i has come under sharp criticism with Jubilee MPs from Nyamira referring him to as 'tenant' in the county.
Led by Mekenene Jubilee branch Secretary General Patel Aboki, they claim he will 'water down' President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy through 'punitive and unwarranted decisions'.
"We wonder why MPs have not initiated a motion to impeach him. He is now drunk with power, harassing Kenyans right, left and center," read the statement.
They added: "The crackdown on media, bloggers and even individual journalists is uncalled for. That is not what Jubilee is intending to do."
At a Press Conference on Wednesday, a defiant Matiang'i insisted that the ban on media shall continue until investigations are completed.
Nyamira leaders led by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko insisted that Matiang'i doesn't represent 'interests and aspirations' of people.
