A section of Jubilee leader from Kimumu ward, Moiben constitunecy in Uasin Gishu now wants MPs impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly sabotaging parliament.

Earlier this week, Uhuru is said to have instructed MPs to de-whip four Rift Valley MPs from departmental committees, a move that has not gone well with North Rift residents.

"The president has just confirmed that he is out to sabotage parliament and this contravenes the spirit of the constitution," said John Kipkoech, who spoke on behalf of Jubilee Youth League Volunteers Network, Moiben.

He added: "This now gives MPs a clear path of impeaching Uhuru because we cannot allow executive to dictate parliament."

Local MP Silas Tiren was ousted from Agriculture committee leadership while his Nandi Hills counterpart Alfred Keter lost Labour committee.

Jubilee had termed the move as necessary to confine leadership to regional balance as agreed earlier on.

They also threatened to demonstrate against the ouster of the two, terming it as 'unconstitutional'.
