Kwale Women Representative Zainab Chidzuga has said the Jubilee Party will not hold elections in the county in a bid to avoid chaos.
Chidzuga’s sentiments come after the party's elections to elect interim officials in different counties were marred by chaos and violence.
Speaking in Lungalunga, Chidzuga said the move will ensure that the party not only remains united, but also retains its good reputation in the region as the next general election draws closer.
“I want people to understand there will be no Jubilee Party election in Kwale. We will have our elections in 2017, but what we are doing right now is negotiating, and talking to each other to form interim committees,” she said, as quoted by The Star.
Jubilee leaders have in the recent past been embroiled in supremacy battles.
Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and Chidzuga have disagreed over the nominations as the party seeks to win majority seats in the county during the upcoming polls.
