Three Jubilee leaders were over the weekend embroiled in a war of words during a church service in Nyeri over campaigns for the DP ahead of the 2022 polls.

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah differed with Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu's stand on early campaigns for Ruto.

According to Murkomen and Ichung'wa, Ngunjiri was fighting the DP, who is the automatic successor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

They spoke at a church in Ngunjiri constituency who was absent.

Murkomen said Ngunjiri's position had put him out of favour Jubilee Party supporters stating that he will not have an easy time defending his seat in 2022.

Murkomen stated that unlike Ngunjiri,  Ichung'wa was re-elected unopposed since he had accomplished much for his Kikuyu constituents by virtue of his close relationship with President Kenyatta and DP Ruto.

The war of words was provoked a social media post by Ngunjiri.

“Let me take this opportunity to welcome Murkomen and Ichung’wa and other members of the Tanga Tanga squad to Nyeri. I wish I had known earlier that you were coming and I would have happily joined you,” he posted.

Ngunjiri has argued that it is too early to start campaigns since it might derail President Uhuru's development agenda.
