A day after President Uhuru Kenyatta nominated a section of Kenyans to his cabinet, a number of Jubilee grassroots leaders have come out guns blazing.
Of the 19 Cabinet Secretaries, only six survived Uhuru's onslaught as he prepares for his last and final term.
Led by Former Gesima MCA Kenneth Nyameino, a section of Jubilee leaders faulted inclusion of James Macharia in the new cabinet.
"It is shocking that Macharia has been retained despite performing dismally in Transport docket. This is quite shocking.
"We shall protest his inclusion and the President listen to us. We need someone competent to take over the sector," said Nyameino, with the leaders mainly from Kitutu Masaba threatening to go to streets over Macharia's inclusion.
In recent weeks, Macharia has been put on spot following numerous road accidents on Kenyan roads.
Also retained in the cabinet were Fred Matiang'i, Najib Balala, Charles Keter, Henry Rotich and Joe Mucheru.
