Jubilee leaders including Deputy President William Ruto have said they have no problem with the Court of Appeal ruling on how the presidential results will be announced during the August General Election.

The leaders said they were not scared since it’s Kenyans who will vote come the August elections and not institutions like the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) or the courts.

The leaders said they were confident Jubilee Party will win irrespective of who and where the results will be counted.

Other leaders were Nakuru Jubilee gubernatorial candidate Lee Kinyanjui, MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), David Gikaria (Nakuru town East) and Karanja Kihage (Naivasha).

Mr Ruto said Jubilee is well prepared and will not be bothered by the courts rulings, so long as no one interferes with the August 8, the date for Kenyans to go to the polls.

“We are ready for elections wherever it is held, whoever prints the ballot papers and wherever it’s counted and by who,” said Mr Ruto.

The Deputy President said Jubilee was confident of winning the August elections irrespective of who or where it’s results were counted.

He said the party was not bothered with who printed the ballot papers, saying it was only keen on peaceful, fair and free elections.

A five Court of Appeal judges last week ruled that the results announced by each of the 290 Returning Officers will be final.

This means that the presidential results announced at the constituency level will be final and all that will be done at the National Tallying Centre is additional of the results announced at the constituencies.

Mr Ichungwa said Jubilee would win the August elections irrespective of where the presidential results will be announced.

“As Jubilee we are not bothered in where the results the presidential results will be announced because we have the numbers and we will win by a larger margin compared to 2013,” said Mr Ichungwa.

He said Opposition leaders were now demanding for changes at the IEBC through the courts because it has already sensed defeat.

“These guys (Opposition) are scared and that’s why they are demanding for unnecessary changes at the IEBC through the courts with the intention of delaying the elections,” said Mr Ichungwa.

He said their Opposition counterparts have now resorted to tribal politics because they have no agenda for Kenyans.

Mr Kihage said Jubilee’s development track record speaks for itself and that’s why it was well prepared to face its opponents at the ballot come August elections.

“Our friends in the Opposition should be ready to concede defeat because Jubilee will win by a large margin when elections are held in August because of its clear agenda for Kenyans,” said Mr Kihage.

Mr Kinyanjui said residents of Nakuru County residents will turn out in large numbers to vote for Jubilee because of its commitment to peace, unity and development.

“Different ethnic communities have been able to live peacefully in Nakuru County for the last four years because of good leadership of Jubilee,” said Mr Kinyanjui.
