A host of Jubilee leaders were on Sunday forced to periodically cut short their speech and sort refugee from podium after a group of rowdy youths resisted their message.

The Sunday’s Rigoma meeting was meant to drum support for re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is set to visit the region.

Trouble begun when Ken Atuti, Gesima MCA took podium and was welcomed by anti-Jubilee chants forcing him to abandon the podium.

His host and Rigoma MCA Ben Sironga, was not spared either as angry youths pelted stones questing their record in the assembly.

However, normalcy was restored after aspiring Nyamira Governor Walter Nyambati appealed for locals to maintain order.

“It is your right to oppose Jubilee and my take is we should always remain calm. We may not agree all the times but it is important to be tolerant,” said Nyambati.

Things couldn’t work though for EALA MP Joseph Kiangoi, who ditched ODM for Jubilee as the rowdy youths booed him throughout his speech.

Kitutu Masaba ODM Youth leader Douglas Maati accused the Jubilee team of selfish interests adding that the team was unwelcome in Nyamira.

“I will say that umpteenth times and I won’t shy. Let Jubilee avoid campaigning in Nyamira because we are tired of the regime,” he said.
