A section of Jubilee leaders from the Rift Valley region have come out in support of embattled Nandi Hills lawmaker Alfred Keter, at a time when he seems to be hitting the rock bottom.
Moiben Member of Parliament Silas Tiren and his Emurrua Dikkir counterpart Johanna Ng'eno have joined the firebrand lawmaker in bashing the Jubilee Party, which he claimed was behind his woes.
The leaders accused the Jubilee leadership of managing Keter's troubles, Tiren alleged that the party is planning to punish the four man team that recently defied a directive to resign from top parliamentary committee positions.
''There is a plan to dethrone all the MPs who recently disagreed with the executive's directive to vacate the parliamentary committee leadership positions. The first victim was Kagongo Bowen of Marakwet East and now Keter has followed suit,'' he told supporters in Eldoret town Thursday, after the nullification.
Tiren was also part of the team that also included James Gakuya (Embakasi North) which was later dethroned through a vote of no confidence.
The comments were echoed by Ng'eno who warned the government against resorting to intimidation against leaders with different views.
''We cannot be intimidated and they should know that,'' he said.
On his side, Keter vowed to relentlessly proceed with his operations.
