Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Kieni MP Kanini Kega say Midiwo'a absence in parliament had made the House debates inactive promising to engage President Uhuru Kenyatta to consider the former lawmaker for a government position.

Speaking in Sirembe Secondary School in Bungoma County on Saturday, the two said Midiwo is a senior leader in Kenya who can not take part in the development of the country from the periphery.

"Midiwo is an intelligent leader and the country is missing him," Wamalwa said as he promised to do all he can to have Midiwo, opposition chief Raila Odinga's relative appointed in government.

He said he knows Midiwo as a man of principle who would never get compromised easily.

Kega on his part said Midiwo's during the August 8 general election should not be translated to mean the lawmaker can not serve in a different capacity outside Parliament.

"I will together with my brother Eugene Wamalwa ensure we get audience with the President so taht we get this issue addressed," the Kieni MP said.

Midiwo lost his seat to Elisha Odhiamb during the August 8 poll.
