Just a month after declaring he would defend his seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, Lamu governor Issa Timamy has ditched the party and joined Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC) Party.

Revealing his departure from Jubilee, Timamy said he opted into ANC because he believed both Cord and Jubilee could not be trusted.

The Lamu governor said this on Monday at Mwanaarafa Hall in Lamu and added that he was also avoiding what he termed as unnecessary conflict with contenders for the same Jubilee ticket.

In other similar news, former cabinet secretary Kazungu Kambi has also ditched Jubilee and joined Kadu Asili.

Confirming the developments, Kadu Secretary General Jimmy Ngala said Kambi was their ‘biggest catch’ prior to the general elections.

These departures come just days after Lugari MP Ayub Savula and Vihiga senator George Khaniri departed from the party citing poor working terms.
