A former Member of Parliament has decamped from the Jubilee Party.
Ex- Imenti North lawmaker Silas Muriuki has officially joined the Mazingira Greens Party.
Muriuki said that the upcoming Jubilee nominations were likely to be unfair.
He is eyeing Imenti North parliamentary seat, currently held by MP Rahim Dawood.
“I have consulted with the electorate and it has been resolved that I move from Jubilee to Mazingira Party, where I am assured of a direct nomination,” said Muriuki on Thursday as reported by the Standard.
He was addressing Mazingira Party delegates at Olive Gardens.
Muriuki alleged that former Interior Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo will be handed the Jubilee Party ticket.
On Wednesday, Narok West MP Patrick Ole Ntutu left President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party for Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM).
Ntutu said the Jubilee Party nominations might not be fair to all the aspirants seeking tickets ahead of August 8 general election.
