Jubilee Party and its ODM rival are now on the same lane, after Jubilee lost one of its governors, during party nominations.

Baringo governor Benjamin Cheboi has been thrown out of the Jubilee Party ticket race, as he seeks to defend his seat.

Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut), Koibatek branch secretary general Stanley Kiptis has beat Cheboi, to clinch the ticket, in the nominations, held Monday April 24.

Preliminary results from Eldama-Ravine saw Kiptis lead with 123,505 votes against Cheboi's 6,682 votes, while in Baringo central, Cheboi garnered 4,964 votes against Kiptis' 13,805 votes.

He becomes the first governor to lose the party's ticket.

On the other hand, ODM also lost the first governor, durong nominations.

Taita Taveta county boss John Mruttu lost to Wundanyi MP Thomas Mwadeghu who garnered 18,421 votes against Mruttu’s 15,911 votes in the Coastal County.
