Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo and Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale have hit out at the Jubilee government saying that the manifesto they gave when campaigning in the run to the 2013 election was a fraud scheme.
According to Midiwo, the government has failed to fulfill the pledges it made during the campaign period and that all it has been doing is to ‘defraud and con Kenyans’.
Speaking in a morning interview on NTV on Tuesday, Midiwo said that the president needed a lot of help to get the country moving because the nation was ‘headed towards the wrong direction’.
The lawmaker added that the recent Public Investment Committee (PIC) report paints a gloomy picture of how corruption was crippling the Kenyan economy especially through the Youth Fund.
On his part, Khalwale claimed that the government has been conning people through its unrealistic development programmes which ended up being a grand scheme to defraud Kenyans.
He gave an example of NYS, Galana/Kulalu Irrigation Scheme, the Eurobond Scandal and the Standard Gauge Railway which have all raised question marks amid claims that too much money has been lost in the quest for their implementation.
