A nominated MCA has claimed he was recently beaten by goons at the county government offices after abandoning the Jubilee Party.
Martin Wanyonyi from Bungoma claimed he was beaten by hired goons for spying on the Cord coalition after ditching Jubilee to join the opposition.
The MCA representing persons living with disabilities said he was beaten and frog-marched in the presence of Governor Kenneth Lusaka's bodyguard who did not come to his rescue.
He claimed he had been called to the premises by County Roads CeC Stephen Nendela for a discussion when he met the goons.
"Am aware that they attacked me claiming that I have no business to come and spy at the county government. They were pissed off that I had ditched Jubilee for ODM," Wanyonyi told local media on Thursday.
He said there is suspicion among opposition politicians in Bungoma that he could be spying for the ruling party.
Wanyonyi said it is his democratic right to join any political party.
Mr Lusaka recently left New Ford Kenya which sponsored him to Parliament and joined Jubilee.
He has however, indicated that he was moving out of Jubilee since the ruling party 'does not treat them well.'
