Members of the Jubilee Party on Wednesday held demonstrations in Nairobi to denounce Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo following her verbal attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ms Odhiambo on Tuesday ahead of debate in Parliament over the proposed amendment to the Elections Act verbally attacked Mr Uhuru calling him an incompetent president.
Led by Nairobi Women Representative aspirant Millicent Omanga, the protesters chanted anti-Cord slogans denouncing Ms Odhiambo.
Some of the placards they carried said Mr Uhuru will rule for another five years.
"My team and I today held peaceful demonstrations against the insults directed to President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta by one Millie Odhiambo," Ms Omanga posted on her official Facebook page.
"It is with the strongest words that I condemn such shameful act which is a show of no respect to the presidency.
During the showdown in Parliament on Tuesday, Cord MPs accused Mr Kenyatta of trying to influence the outcome of the 2017 elections.
They claimed proposed changed to the IEBC law will give Jubilee an advantage in 2017 polls.
"As an African woman, we should have good morals that should be emulated by the up coming generations," Ms Omanga added.
"Women of this country and of this beautiful Nairobi county, we stand in solidarity with our president."
