Former Sports and Culture CS Hassan Wario has been accused of being a shisha addict.
This came up during the vetting by the committee on Defence and Foreign Relations of the National Assembly.
Wario was nominated as Kenya's ambassador to Austria.
The allegations were brought forward by Imenti MP Moses Kirima.Mr Kirima.
Kirimi brought up the issue when he asked Wario to comment on the recent Shisha ban by the government.
The sentiment angered Wario who accused the committee members of disrespecting him
According to Wario, whatever he does in his private life is none of the committee's business.
Kirimi's remarks were not lightly taken as Saku MP Dida Raso and Mr Metito ruled him out of order for using unparliamentary language against Wario.
"You may choose to rephrase your question because the use of word addict implies improper motive on the part of the nominee, " noted Metito.
Mr Kirima withdrew the word addict replacing it with the phrase, Mr Wario "takes shisha and enjoys it," leaving other members of the committee in stitches.
Members of the committee condemned the former CS for poor performance during his reign in the sports docket.
The government banned the use of Shisha in the country last year over the medical dangers.
