Webuye West Member of Parliament Daniel Wanyama castigated plans by the Opposition, Cord, to hold protests against the Election (Amendments) Law 2016.
This is after Jubilee MPs at the National Assembly approved contentious amendments to the law, last week.
The Jubilee MP accused the Opposition of failing Kenyans, by failing to participate in amending the Bill, to allow a manual backup system for voter identification, timeliness for the acquisition of election systems, and results transmission in the August 8, 2017 general elections.
Wanyama who was elected on a Ford Kenya party ticket, said Cord's planned protests would affect the Country's peace and development.
Speaking at Milo Central primary school, he asked Kenyans not to participate in the protests.
