Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny has urged  president Uhuru Kenyatta to consider retaining Water minister Eugene Wamalwa in the Cabinet.

Kuttuny has argued that  Wamalwa should serve as Water or Agriculture Cabinet Secretary.

"There is still need for Trans Nzoia to have a Cabinet Secretary who can observe and implement government policies and help address water and agricultural problems the county's residents and farmers face," Kuttuny quoted by  The Star.

Eugene Wamalwa is among 13 cabinet secretaries whose names were not in Uhuru's first list.

Among those who made it in  Friday’s president list are  Henry Rotich (Treasury), Najib Balala (Tourism), Charles Keter (Energy and petroleum), Fred Matiang’i (Interior), Joe Mucheru (ICT) and James Macharia (Transport).Kuttuny noted that Wamalwa and other Jubilee Party leaders delivered votes for Uhuru during the August 8 and October 26 elections from Western region.

Kuttuny has argued that leaving Wamalwa out in the 'political cold' will paint a bad picture. He said that Wamalwa diligently worked hard  during Jubilee campaigns and delivered for  President  Kenyatta.

Some Western region residents have said that it would be unfair for Uhuru to convince Wamalwa to dissolve his party, only to throw him out of government.
