Jubilee aspirant for Tetu MP seat Ann Kanyi was on Friday evening attacked and injured by goons while on her campaign trail.
Kanyi suffered a knee dislocation and is also nursing back and leg injuries following the incident at Mbaaini, Tetu constituency.
She said she was traversing the constituency when a vehicle with a gang blocked her way before escaping.
Kanyi said the four men, who attacked her, smashed her cars' windows, dragged her out and started assaulting her.
“When the car blocked me, four masked armed men jumped out and came running towards my car. Within three minutes I had been terrorized enough. It was like a movie. They dragged us out of the car and forced us to lie down after smashing the right back window with a metal bar,” she said, as quoted by The Star.
She said the aggressors did not steal anything from her, but threatened to shoot her if she does not drop her political ambitions.
She is the only female candidate eyeing the Tetu MP seat.
Kanyi was treated at the Mathari Mission Hospital.
She has since recorded a statement at Gachatha Police post.
