National Assembly Deputy Majority Leader Jimmy Angwenyi on Monday had physical confrontation with Kitutu Chache South Jubilee aspirant Antony Kibagendi, a Jubile insider has confirmed.
Both leaders are close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta and have been leading grassroot campaigns ahead of October 26 elections.
Trouble started when Kibagendi allegedly asked for part of Sh10 million given by DP William Ruto for campaigns at Kibagendi's constituency only for Jimmy to reportedly slash the cash significantly.
"They had a physical confrontation at Mash Park Hotel and were separated by some of us," said the source who spoke in confidence.
The source added:"Jimmy did not want to give more money given to him for campaigns in Kitutu Chache South and Kibagendi was not impressed."
A defiant Jimmy, it's said, maintained that he would only give Sh 2 million for the campaigns thus leading to the confrontation.
Efforts to reach the two leaders were futile since none of them could pick phone calls until the time of going to press.
Kibagendi will be facing a host of candidates in his constituency on November 7 in an election after IEBC cancelled August polls in the region after the death of Leonard Mwamba, a Jubilee aspirant.
